Tel Aviv Restaurants | David veYosef
Tucked away on one of Tel Aviv’s trendiest corners, David veYosef is an excellent spot known not only for it’s incredible plates, but for a lively night energy reminiscent of a neighborhood bar. Located on the junction of Ben Yehuda Street and Yirmiyahu Street in the Old North neighborhood, just steps from the Tel Aviv Port, David veYosef is the brain child of two chefs who came together to provide Tel Avivians with a fresh, market style tapas restaurant in an area not known for innovative eateries (though this is now changing). An intimate space with only a few tables and a small bar surrounding an open kitchen, the chefs prepare dishes from whatever is freshest from the Carmel and Jaffa markets, working with the seasons to create small succulent plates for their discerning diners. The best way to approach David veYosef is to take a sampling of the dishes, splitting the food amongst your party, to ensure you get a taste of everything, because as you will see, everything is excellent. The menu is constantly changing, so it’s hard to offer any specific recommendations, but focus on the sea food dishes to be sure. There’s typically always a risotto on the menu and this is always our favorite dish. The restaurant is quite small , and seats fill up quickly, so be sure to make a reservation. In the coming months the restaurant will be relocating to equally interesting Montifiore Street in Lev Hair, so stay tuned for updates!
